The best way for me personally to make sure I am prepared for any kind of military service, is to train using the male guidelines. I know I'll do okay with push-ups and sit-ups but the running scares me. I do play sports but it seems that as I get closer and closer to being out of high school, the harder it is to run. I can sprint pretty good, but when it comes ...

Hi,

How is everybody doing? Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Cymphoni (pronounced Symphony) and I'm 17 years old. As a little girl, I dreamed of becoming a Navy SEAL...you can imagine my disappointment when I learned that females cannot become Navy SEALs. I am not currently enlisted, however I am thinking about enlisting in the Marines. I joined this forum because I could not think of a better place to get advice, besides a close friend of mine who is in the Army.

Any advice is ...

I'm writing a screenplay that has to do with Russian military helicopters and I was reading that the MIL MI-8, can either have a gun pod that carries the AGS-17 30mm grenade launcher or a gun pod that carries the twin barrel 23mm autocannon. Now since the twin barrel autocannon probably has a much longer range and more destructive fire power, cause it's two barrels, why would they bother to have a pod for the grenade launcher? Especially since they are of a similar calibre? What's the advantage? ...

Obama, and the coming Constitutional crisis

Folks...there are more people who question his Constitutional qualifications than before. The numbers are growing, not shrinking. And, this has occurred without the so called MSM, or major newspapers, or major magazines, or talk radio (even conservative talk). More and more people are starting to 'connect the dots' here once they objectively look at the evidence (even the little amount at the moment). The single biggest one of course is that ...

Okay, calling the AXE a Hummer might be too much of a stretch - but it is a potent weapon for the army nevertheless.

The Mahindra Axe is being built as per Indian Army specifications. The vehicle is an IPR of the Mahindras and even the engine ...

This weapon injects a frozen ball of compressed gas approximately the size of a basketball at 850psi nearly instantly. The effects of this injection will drop many of the world's largest land predators. The effects of the compressed gas not only cause over-inflation during ascent when used underwater, but also freezes all tissues and organs surrounding the point of injection on land or at sea. When used underwater, the injected gas carries the predator to the surface BEFORE blood is released ...

Instead the practitioners progress through ten phases of training that build upon one another to produce, in 6 to 12 months, a person capable of fighting standing up, on the ground, against multiple opponents, unarmed or armed with various weapons including batons & knives.

Progress through the ranks is denoted by various colored t-shirts.

It is not the ultimate work on this subject, but it offers some sound, basic advise. The information is presented in a clear and factual manner. No flowery descriptions to be found. Perhaps this is a pity, as the book is rather small in the end (about 55 pages).

The 'would have been' service rifle if the SLR wasnt adopted. It is chambered in the .280 calibre which is very similar ballistically to todays 6.8 SPC and size. The weapon is well balanced for a Bullpup layout, and has a reliable dust proof mechanisim. Unfortunatley, this weapon was cancelled due to NATO standardisation of the 7.62x54 round to be used in the-then standard service rifles and also the cost of this platform.
